You wrote the book. We'll do the rest.
Belcemo Books takes finished manuscripts and turns them into published, on-sale books — editing, design, ISBNs, print and ebook editions, worldwide distribution, and a website for the book. Start with a short query. If the book is a fit, we take it from there.
Every step between a manuscript and a book on sale.
From the first read to the last retailer listing. You stay the author; we become the publishing department.
Editorial
We read it, proofread it, and set it as a book. Where something in your file has to change to work in print, we change it and tell you why: every departure listed with its reason, and any of them reversible.
Design
Cover, interior typesetting, and print-ready files.
ISBNs & metadata
Identifiers, categories, cataloging, and the listing data retailers and libraries need.
Print & ebook
Paperback and hardcover editions, plus EPUB and Kindle formats.
Distribution
Amazon, IngramSpark for bookstores and libraries, Lulu, and direct sales.
A website for the book
A dedicated site with buy links, excerpts and press materials.
Translations
Foreign-language editions with their own covers, ISBNs and distribution.
Launch
Review copies, and listings and metadata that read correctly everywhere the book appears.
Four steps, from query to publication.
Nothing goes ahead without your agreement.
- 1
Send a query
Title, a one-page synopsis, a sample, and a few lines about you. Nothing more, yet.
- 2
We read and reply
If the book is a fit, we ask for the full manuscript.
- 3
We agree on terms
In writing, before any work starts: what we do, what it costs, how sales income is shared, and which rights you license to us and for how long.
- 4
We publish
The book goes on sale in print and as an ebook, through the retailers and wholesalers listed above.
You keep the copyright. You pay what the work costs. The book may not earn much. All three are true at once.
- 01
Nothing until we say yes
Querying is free, being read is free, and you are under no obligation at any point before an agreement is signed. If the book is not for us, we say so — that is the whole of it.
- 02
You keep the copyright
Always. Publishing a book needs a license to print and sell it, and that is agreed per book — but the copyright itself stays yours, and sending us a manuscript grants us nothing at all.
- 03
Money, plainly
You pay for the production work. Sales income is paid on to you, less a small share for administration and tax. Print-on-demand books rarely earn their authors a significant income. We publish on that understanding.
Books we've published.
Each title links to where it can be bought or read about.
Listed with the author's consent. Not every book we publish appears here; some authors prefer not to be listed.
